Fellowship With the Lord

This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 1 John 1:5 Light is considered as pure, and consists of no sin. In John 8:12 Jesus says, “I AM the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. Before we come to the Lord we are in sin, which also is darkness. The world is full of darkness. When we receive Jesus, he comes in our life and destroys all darkness. Jesus also tells us in John 16:33 “… in this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world!” The Lord is our fortress and refuge, don’t worry, but keep faith in the Lord, for he will protect you and keep you safe. Therefore, Jesus purifies us from all darkness, so we may have fellowship with one another, and our fellowship is with God the Father and his Son, Jesus Christ. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. 1 John 1:6 We must be purified from all sin, and walk in light as he is light. When we claim to have fellowship with God, but still follow our sinful nature, we are not living in truth. If we walk in light as he is the light, then we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ purifies us from all sin. We all have sinned as Paul have said in Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and fell short of the glory of God.” It is best if you are truthful with the Lord, and confess all of our sins. For nothing goes hidden from the Lord. Come to God with an honest heart. For Jesus says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9
